Yet another variation on the infamous Chex Party Mix. This particular variation will fill a large (32cup) Tupperware bowl.
Dry Ingredients
- 6 cups corn Chex
- 6 cups rice Chex
- 4 cups Crispix
- 2 cups Cheerios or wheat Chex
- 1 cups of peanuts
- 2 cups of pretzels or garlic chips
- 2 cups of Bugles or Goldfish
Sauce Ingredients
- 2 sticks of butter
- 2 tablespoon seasoning salt
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup of Worcestershire sauce
Combine the sauce ingredients in a small microwave safe bowl, and heat in the microwave until the butter is melted. Mix well and drizzle over the dry ingredients, mixing often until all of the sauce is mixed in. Then mix some more to ensure even distribution.
Preheat oven to 250 F. Spread the mix onto a couple of large cookie sheets and bake for about 50 minutes, stirring every 10-15 minutes. When done, dump into a large paper bag (clean) and toss (with the top of the bag closed). Open the bag and allow to cool.
Microwave directions – There are no microwave directions since baking is so much better.
Easy Measure Variation
This version is a bit simpler and easier to measure.
Dry Ingredients
- 14 oz box of Corn Chex
- 1/2 – 14 oz box of Rice Chex
- 1/2 – 14 oz box of Wheat Chex
- 1/2 bag of of pretzels or garlic chips (8 oz size)
- 1 cup of nuts (cashews or peanuts)
Use the sauce mix as listed above. Hint – if you buy 2 boxes of corn Chex, 1 box of wheat Chex and 1 box of rice Chex, pretzels or garlic chips, a pound of butter, and a bottle of Worcestershire it will make two large batches (don’t forget seasoning salt and onion powder).
